My Mother's Compton
My Mother's Compton
Earlier this year we had the opportunity to travel to California and document the incredible change that is happening within the Compton community. Aja Brown’s story is one of strength and perseverance. She is humble, approachable and has a great sense of humor. She is transforming her community one relationship at a time. This short documentary was played before her talk at Leadercast.

Earlier this year we had the opportunity to work with Pixar and interview some of the highest profile Directors and Producers in their organization with the goal of crafting an Introduction for Ed Catmull. This film would serve as an introduction as he would tour and speak on his latest book 'Creativity Inc.' We are finally releasing the film. Take a moment and hear what people have to say about one of the greatest organizational leaders working today.
We partnered with Ryan Essmaker, Founder of 'The Great Discontent' to create a video to drive MailChimp's upcoming campaign to recruit new talent.
MailChimp prides itself on a work culture of dedication, no-holds-barred creativity and respect. So when it came time to make a video to serve as the keystone of their recruiting process, we knew we had to represent those traits in a way that was undeniably authentic - letting people’s passion show through unfiltered, allowing the end product to be a little silly and compelling at once, which we believe shows through in the connectedness of the production elements as well as the consistent and heartfelt storyline. We hope you’ll see how proud the MailChimp staff is of their work and how proud we were to tell their stories.
This short served as an opener for Malala Yousafzai at Leadercast this year. Her story is inspiring and we were honored to be a part of crafting her introduction for the Leadercast audience. The audio from the piece is an excerpt from an address Malala made at the United Nations in 2013.

Special thanks to the United Nations for granting us permission to pull this excerpt from her speech.
The opportunity to help build a brand vision at its very beginning is rare and exciting, so naturally we were excited to team up with startup nightlife application, Socialtopias. We were brought in to create promotional lifestyle content to announce and supplement the brand’s upcoming launch - content that was undeniably exciting and evocative. Our job was to inspire a potential audience to go out and plan the Best Night Ever and to convince potential partners to sign up and see their business grow with Socialtopias. This led to a suite of nine web tutorial videos for multiple user types, as well. Every aspect, from concept to script to music composition, was lead by our team. The result is cinematic, vibrant and heartfelt. You can learn more here:
"A lot of times as artists and creative people you can plateau when you're afraid of changing what works. There's a certain comfort in safety. But I believe the moment you settle for what's safe is also the moment that you begin to die. Taking that risk and stepping out into the unknown- that's where true creativity is born. And you may fall flat on your face and hate what you did but if you are true to your experience I don't think you can fail."

This is the second mini-documentary we were commissioned to produce for Leadercast 2015. Kohl Crecelius is the CEO and co-founder of Krochet Kids International, an organization that exists to empower people to rise above poverty. Our team traveled to Costa Mesa, CA to capture Kohl’s story. The theme for this documentary was “The Brave Ones create the future.”

“Thematically profound and technically tight, Economy rises from the strong, inspiring foundation McMillan’s previous efforts have built, and stands on its own as an earmark in this artist’s career, as a portent for the music scene at large.” – The Blue Indian

Comporium: Making Life Easier
Comporium Business Solutions - "Making Life Easier"
As our partner, Comporium, prepared to market its business services products, we wanted to give them something different than what we’d produced in the past. It had to be instantly friendly, clearly reliable and build the foundation for their upcoming advertising strategy. Thanks to our strong relationship with the client, we were given full creative direction over the project, including script, storyboards, design and animation. We also commissioned an original score and lead sound design. The result is lighthearted, yet professional. Solution-driven, yet approachable.

Bechtler Museum of Modern Art | Alberto Giacometti
We teamed up with MODE ( modevisual.com ) and the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art ( bechtler.org ) to produce a short film highlighting the Alberto Giacometti exhibition.
Overview of the Exhibition: Giacometti: Memory and Presence profiles Alberto Giacometti, one of the titans of 20th–century modernism. Designed chronologically, it captures Giacometti’s artistic maturation from youthful explorations to his greatest achievements. Presented are sculptures, paintings, drawings and decorative objects revealing the aesthetic evolution, emotional power and existential qualities of Giacometti’s oeuvre. Pieces are from the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art collection as well as the Alberto Giacometti-Stiftung in Zürich and the Alberto and Annette Giacometti Foundation in Paris, which loaned more than 60 works, including rarely seen plasters. The exhibition also includes works by Giacometti’s younger brothers, Diego and Bruno, and their father Giovanni.
